Felicity Garvie
Felicity Garvie is a socialist of outstanding ability and experience. She was a founding member of the SSP, after returning from 18 years spent living in Germany, and has stood as a candidate for elections on several occasions, including topping the SSP’s Euro list in 2004.
As an assistant to the SSP’s group of MSPs from 1999 until 2007, Fiz, as she’s more usually known, was a driving force of our work in the Scottish Parliament. She was the project co-ordinator for our free school meals campaign, seeing two bills on the subject through the parliament, taking the campaign out to the streets, and building support for the demand from a wide range of anti-poverty organisations.
She has tremendous experience of international politics, and having survived the machinations of the Scottish Parliament with her principles intact, she’s a woman we trust to represent socialism passionately in the face of the worst bureaucracy.
